Interviews can create an anxious situation for some candidates, so acting insincere or disinterested can disrupt the interviewee further and spoil their chance to show off their potential – plus they probably won’t want to work for you if you come across as a shady character!

It is important to understand how to interview in a manner that allows the interviewee to fulfill their potential and offer the best of their ability.

Psychology expert Phillip Hodson explains how smiling (in moderation) and a bit of eye-contact can make your candidate feel more comfortable under pressure, whilst also providing an insight into their character.
