Whether you are celebrating or commiserating, or even still in limbo awaiting final results, there's bound to be some pretty strong emotions that are stirred up right now. So - congratulations to you if you passed! Or it could be that you unexpectedly failed your exams, or that the results weren't quite as good as you needed them to be. And how do you cope with the tension of waiting for the results right now?
First of all, its worth remembering that when you first receive your results, if you have failed or not got the results you wanted, that there may will be a range of very powerful emotions including anger, depression and sometimes denial. Its important to give yourself a break if this does happen - yes of course you will feel upset, this is completely natural.
a) Give yourself a few days to adjust to the news, and remember this may be doubly hard if your mates are celebrating their successes and you are not.
b) Try to surround yourself with supportive people, family, close friends and let off some steam.
c) Talk when you are ready to talk about it, and once the emotions die down, then it will be easier to see what the other options may be for you by speaking to your tutors, parents and career advisory department...
Passed? Then congratulations - but what next? The euphoria of passing may quickly be replaced by fear of the unknown, and getting to grips with thinking about the 'real' world may be a bit scary! Speak to your universitys career service if you are uncertain.
SO - will you
a) Continue your studies
b) Take a gap year before you start work

Have read all your articals & comments today and it all comes back to ageism or even racist!(I have got it in both forms),,, - I am 54, Welsh & proud and was a Quantity Surveyor in South Wales, working for a an international construction company you may have heard of them McAlpine?, - and then we we're taken over by the big boys and then we lost our jobs and then I began a job search (thinking won't be out for long!) - guess what, still out - been out for four months now and this where the racist thing kicks in - Bristol is about 45 mins driving time(over the bridge and into England) and they have loads of work-won't even answer my emails or calls, Take care Guys hope you all find what your looking for!!!
